VIVAAN KAPOOR
aka Chickeen Drummer
Vivaan Kapoor, Chickeen from Chickeen Masala is a prolific drummer and percussionist and has been playing drums since the age of 5. He has never been formally taught drums or been to music school. He grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, Phil Collins, Shaggy and the Eagles from which he drew inspiration to teach himself to play the drums. He handles the drumming aspect of things behind the kit with Chickeen Masala and busts out the occasional dance move every so often.
He plays all around the country with his second band Ankur and the Ghalat Family as well at festivals like the NH7 Weekender, Stage 42 amongst others. He is a session drummer with artists like Vir Das, Sonu Kakkar, Mame Khan, Natalie Di luccio and Vasuda Sharma.
He is the only Indian drummer who has played with and been mentored by Music Legends Mike Portnoy (Dream Theather, The Winery Dogs, Transatlantic, Flying Colors), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Talas, Steve Vai, Mr Big, David Lee Roth) and Richie Kotzen (Poison, Mr Big, The Winery Dogs) at the Annual Dog Camp at Big Indian New York on two occasions.
When not hitting things for a living, he strives to be a Pokemon master, keeping his Nintendo DS close by wherever he goes. He is an armchair footballer collecting football jerseys from around the world and a sneaker head. He loves to teach drums to young budding drummers too.

Shreya Naik is Masala from Chickeen Masala, a serial entrepreneur and a multidisciplinary artist. She believes that she can change the world with music, color, glitter and glue. On stage, she is an avid percussionist and Visual Jockey handling twin roles, projecting visuals while adding percussive elements to Chickeen Masala. Not to mention owning the dance floor.
Over the years she has worn many hats in her professional life, an advertising executive, a PR agent, an active music programmer and curator, a talent scout, even as CEO of her own artist management company Dream Makers. She is now working towards starting her own boho fashion label.
She is a strong believer in public art and pursues her passion through her interactive art installations. She is not one for confining her work into constrained "art spaces" like galleries or museums but rather finds joy in putting her Art out in the open for the public to see and get actively involved in, essentially using the entire city as her canvas.
When not at work she is busy being a Stitching Jedi, Travel Junkie, Scuba Diving Enthusiast, Hula Hoop Dancer and Chai Lover !
